Zapatilla is Bocas’ ultimate island gem, and it’s only 15 minutes away from Urraca Private Island (they are the two big islands you can spot in front of you). In our opinion, it’s where you’ll find the most breathtaking beaches in the area.
Zapatilla is a set of two islands that are part of Bastimentos National Marine Park (first marine park in Panama). The national park counts with multiple natural beaches that are still rarely visited. Both islands are very important for the critically endangered Hawksbill sea turtles (Eretmochelys imbricata), as they nest on their shores.
With white sand, crystal clear waters, and a jungle trail you can explore (bring sneakers or shoes that are closed) Zapatilla is the closest thing to paradise you will find in Bocas del Toro.
Visit an almost deserted island where you can truly relax and unwind like never before!
National park entrance fee is $10 per person
